Jesus had no children to lay claim to lineage based power or control. He is the death of hereditary control and the erosion of monarchies. This is why those chasing hereditary control of the religious and secular sectors (modern day monarchy) hates Christ and Christians - he is the antithesis of heredity.
Could this be why Catholic priests cannot wed and may it speak to the fact that a monarchy based system like Britain demands that the Church of England priest be married.
